TOKYO, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened marginally higher Tuesday as sentiment was somewhat buoyed by Wall Street's overnight rise, but investors were in a cautious mood early on ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's two-day policy meeting.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 5.83 points, or 0.03 percent, from Monday to 21,129.83.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 2.12 points, or 0.14 percent, at 1,541.86.
Pharmaceutical, marine transportation, and pulp and paper-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
