LONDON, June 20 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.28 percent, or 20.90 points, to close at 7,424.44 points.
Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, soared 5.54 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. International Consolidated Airlines Group and EasyJet increased by 2.93 percent and 2.86 percent, respectively.
Carnival, a British-American cruise operator, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 12.00 percent.
