BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.21 percent, at 3,008.15 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.02 percent lower at 9,212.12 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.61 percent to close at 1,514.46 points.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed lower by 26.97 points, or 0.43 percent, to a level of 6,288.46 on Monday.

Some 432,034 transactions were booked, involving 19.8 billion copies of shares with a value of 12 trillion rupiah (about 848.1 million U.S. Dollars).

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 104.78 points on Monday, down 0.07 points, or 0.07 percent from the previous trading session.

Prices of 61 stocks went up, 74 stocks dropped, while 231 stocks remained unchanged.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Monday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,676.13 down 6.10 points or 0.36 percent, and the Emas was at 11,792.94 down 56.57 points or 0.48 percent.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks closed lower, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.3 percent, or 9.87 points, to close at 3,311.53.

The STI index went up 0.21 percent, or 6.89 points, to close at 3,321.4 Friday.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.06 percent higher on Monday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 5.11 points to 8,060.58. The all-share index went down by 5.27 points, or 0.11 percent, to 4,922.54.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand stock market rallied higher to a record of 10,388.31 on Monday.

Pushpay Holdings dropped 3.2 percent to 3.95 dollars. Synlait Milk decreased 3 percent to 9.52 dollars, A2 Milk went up 1.57 percent to 14.24 dollars and Vista Group International retreated 2 percent to 6 dollars. (1 New Zealand dollars equals 0.66 U.S. dollars)

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 39.29 points, or 0.14 percent, to 28,513.0 points on Monday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 28,358.06 and 28,634.48. Turnover totaled 69.78 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 8.93 billion U.S. dollars).

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished lower on Monday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) Index down 1.2 points, or 0.2 percent, to close at 611.25.

A total of 2,574 shares worth 9.3 million riel (2,284 U.S. dollars) were traded.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended almost unchanged Monday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) edged up 0.71 points, or 0.03 percent, to settle at 2,126.33. Trading volume stood at 661 million shares worth 4 trillion won (3.5 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks rose marginally Monday.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 27.35 points, or 0.13 percent, from Friday at 21,285.99.

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market finished higher on Monday, reversing early losses to reach positive territory shortly before the market close.
