MUSCAT, June 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook on Monday said Washington is ready to lift sanctions imposed on Tehran if it seeks an agreement on its nuclear and missile program, reported the Oman News Agency.

Iran can "come to the table or watch its economy crumble," Hook said in a statement.

He met with Sultan bin Mohammed al-Numani, the minister of Oman's Royal Office, and Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abudllah, the minister responsible for foreign affairs.

Hook also said that tension remains in the region, namely in the Strait of Hormuz. Enditem
