LUSAKA, June 30 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in Zambia major media outlets on Sunday.

-- The Zambian government has reiterated its commitment to breaking up human trafficking cartels.

Minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo said Zambia would not ignore any human trafficking activities happenings within its borders. (Daily Nation)

-- Zambia's biggest public university has awarded President Edgar Lungu and his Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa with doctorates of philosophy in law despite the move raising eyebrows from some quarters.

University of Zambia (UNZA) Vice-Chancellor Luke Mumba said the institution was proud to confer honorary doctorates on the two leaders. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Zambia's central bank says the 2019 economic growth is projected to slow down, mainly on account of lower agricultural production and mining output coupled with constrained electricity generation.

Bank of Zambia (BoZ) Deputy Governor Bwalya Ng'andu said there were other downward risks to growth of the economy such as delayed implementation of fiscal adjustment measures. (Times of Zambia)

-- A court in Zambia has thrown out a matter in which an opposition political leader had appealed against the health ministry's decision to deny him a license for cultivation of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

The Court of Appeal threw out Peter Sinkamba's matter on the ground that it has no powers to usurp the discretion of the health minister and impose its own decision. (The Mast) Enditem
