OTTAWA, July 1 (Xinhua) -- A total of 3,942 people dressed in red T-shirts gathered in a park in Trenton, Canada over the weekend to form the world's largest-ever human maple leaf, according to CTV.

A Guinness World Record representative was on site to verify the record and announce the title.

The record-breaking event, held for marking the Canada Day, doubled as a fundraiser for Soldier On, a charity that supports Canadian Armed Forces veterans with permanent physical or mental health injury or illness.

Maple leaf is the symbol of Canada.

Many celebrations are being held across Canada to mark the country's 152nd birthday that falls on Monday. Enidtem
