ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan said on Thursday that Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on July 22.

MANILA -- A 50-year-old man died after he accidently swallowed a live tilapia fish and got his airway blocked, while fishing in a central Philippine river, local news reported on Thursday.

According to the report, the victim, identified as Roger Marcelino, and his son went fishing in the river in Tagutud, a village in Bungasong town in Antique province in the central Philippines, on June 29 when the accident happened. (Philippines-Accident)

JAKARTA -- Indonesian police have arrested leader and members of Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) militant network, affiliated with al-Qaida, and began investigating the network's palm oil and other businesses connected with their activities, police said on Thursday.

WELLINGTON -- The need to ensure high levels of public safety is the focus of New Zealand's plans revealed on Thursday for the first firearms collections during the buyback and amnesty program following the Christchurch mosque attacks on March 15 that killed at least 51 people.

MANILA -- Military authorities planned to impose a "no jacket policy" on people entering Davao City in southern Philippines, to prevent possible suicide bombers from penetrating crowded events or during major festivities.
