CHIANG MAI, Thailand -- "Pandas are amazing animals," said Chinese photographer Zhou Mengqi on Saturday at the opening ceremony of his two-day photo exhibition on giant panda held in Thailand's Chiang Mai Zoo.

KABUL -- Both the Taliban and government forces have intensified operations against each other ahead of intra-Afghan dialogue for finding negotiated settlement to Afghanistan's prolonged conflict which is expected to open in Qatar's capital Doha on Sunday.
An Afghan delegation comprising politicians, social figures, tribal chieftains, civil society organs, women right activists, former government officials and ranking officials of the incumbent government but in personal capacity, according to local media reports, is going to attend the two-day talks. PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia on Saturday warned a few European parliamentarians against their intention to accompany self-exiled former opposition leader Sam Rainsy to Cambodia.
"It is with great surprise that a handful of European parliamentarians reportedly announced their intention to escort an escaped convict Sam Rainsy repetitively declaring his return to Cambodia in an undetermined date," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) said in a statement. CANBERRA -- Australia's Treasurer is looking "closely" at major infrastructure projects to give the economy another boost after major tax cuts were delivered on Thursday.
