HARARE, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Zimbabwe's major media outlets on Monday.
--President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Sunday held successful bilateral talks in Niamey, Niger with his South African counterpart, President Cyril Ramaphosa, to find lasting solutions to Zimbabwe's power problems, clearing the way for officials from the two countries to meet soon for a new power supply arrangement.
Mnangagwa said Energy and Power Development Minister Fortune Chasi would soon lead a delegation to South Africa to finalize a new power supply deal that should ease electricity woes in the country. (The Herald)
--Zimbabwean First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa was voted vice president of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) in recognition of her philanthropic work and assistance to the less privileged in Zimbabwe.
She was appointed following an election during the ongoing 23rd OAFLAD's General Assembly meeting which is running concurrently with the African Union's Extraordinary Summit. (The Herald) Enditem
