JAKARTA, July 11 (Xinhua) -- As many as 93 countries and regions will send representatives to the Bowling World Cup slated to be held in Indonesia later this year, organizers said on Thursday.
The tournament will be played in November at Jakabaring Sport Stadium in South Sumatra's provincial capital of Palembang, Indonesian Bowling Federation president Percha Leanpuri told Antara news agency.
Leanpuri added that the tournament would be held in a venue which complies with the relevant international standards, noting that it had been used during the 2018 Asian Games.
Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru gave the tournament his full backing, saying that the event would help foster young bowlers in the province.
With South Sumatra having staged a round of the 2019 World Motocross Championship earlier this month, the governor stressed that he is hoping for a similarly successful Bowling World Cup. Enditem
