CAPE TOWN, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in South African major news outlets on Tuesday:

--In the current economic climate, South Africans are hedging their bets by investing abroad and by acquiring a second citizenship or residency overseas at an unprecedented rate, according to Andrew Rissik, group commercial director at Sable International.

Sable has seen a 70 percent increase in enquiries and 45 percent increase in clients over the past year. (Fin24).

--Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa held talks with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday, and the two discussed Zimbabwe's growing power crisis.

Zimbabwe has been experiencing daily power cuts of around 18 hours due to reduced generating capacity, and the state power company said it needed 14 million U.S. dollars a month to import power from regional suppliers. (Eyewitness News). Enditem
