CAPE TOWN, July 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in South African major news outlets on Friday:

--Former president Jacob Zuma is expected to appear in front of the judicial commission of inquiry into state capture next Monday.

During his tenure as head of state between 2009 and 2018, crucial state institutions and state-owned companies were reconfigured to serve the capture project. (News24)

--Police Minister Bheki Cele on Thursday announced that the South African Police Service (SAPS) and South African National Defence Force (SANDF) members will be deployed in crime-riddled communities in Cape Town.
