CAIRO, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mishaal al-Salami, condemned on Saturday a terror attack at a hotel in the port city of Kismayo in Somalia.

In a statement, the speaker urged the international community to provide more support to the Somalian government enabling it to build stronger military and security institutions capable of countering terror groups.

These cowardly terror acts are meant to hinder the political process in Somalia," Mishaal said, adding that these terror acts "will not affect the Somalian people's ongoing efforts to build their state institutions and restore peace and stability."

Mishaal extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims' families, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The Friday's attack, carried out by al-Qaida linked al-Shabab group, left 26 people dead and scores injured. Enditem
