SINGAPORE, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.36 percent, or 12.08 points, to close at 3,360.03.
A total of 1.17 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 854.44 million Singapore dollars (about 629.52 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 208 to 182.
The STI index went down 0.28 percent, or 9.39 points, to close at 3,347.95 Monday. Enditem
