1,019 Tunisian illegal immigrants reach Italy, Spain in H1: report

TUNIS, July 16 (Xinhua) -- A total of 1,019 Tunisians illegal immigrants arrived in Italy and Spain during the first half of 2019, an Tunisian report said Tuesday.

The report, released by the Tunisian Forum of Economic and Social Rights (FTDES), a non-governmental organization, shows Tunisia ranks first in the number of illegal immigrants arriving in Italy (594 immigrants), followed by Pakistan (426 immigrants) and Algeria (271 immigrants).

During the first half of 2019, 1,266 irregular immigration attempts by sea were foiled by Tunisian security units, with 423 individuals identified as missing, the report said. Enditem
