TOKYO, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks dropped sharply Thursday morning, following losses on Wall Street overnight, as concerns over the future course of the global economy weighed on sentiment.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 343.06 points, or 1.60 percent, from Wednesday to 21,126.12.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 26.31 points, or 1.68 percent, at 1,541.10.
All industry categories retreated into negative territory, with oil and coal product, mining and marine transportation-linked issues comprising those that declined the most by the morning break. Enditem
