NAIROBI, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Thursday.

-- A firm believed to be associated with Garissa Town MP and Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale has been awarded government tenders worth 2.6 billion shillings over the last ten years, a Nation investigation has revealed.

However, Mr Duale was quick to distance himself from the company yesterday, and last evening sent us the identification documents of the man he claims owns Concordia Building and Civil Engineering Company Limited, the firm in the multi-billion shilling tender mystery. (Daily Nation)

-- A leaked letter from the Presidency advising the Attorney General on how to deal with the Division of Revenue Bill row between the National Assembly and the Senate has sparked a furious exchange of words between top aides of President Uhuru Kenyatta and those of his deputy William Ruto.

State House sparked the row yesterday after it disowned the letter indicated as authored by a senior Treasury official, who works from the DP's office, saying "it is not genuine," and "does not represent the views of the President." (Standard)

-- The Agriculture ministry irregularly withdrew 1.8 billion shillings from the Strategic Food Reserve Trust Fund account without approval of the board putting embattled Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri on the spot.

In a strongly worded letter to Agriculture Principal Secretary Hamadi Boga, Strategic Food Reserve (SFR) Chairman Noah Wekesa said the payment was outright illegal. (Star) Enditem
