CAIRO, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Thursday stressed Egypt's support of all development efforts in Nile Basin countries.
Sisi, whose country chairs the African Union (AU) during 2019, made the remarks during his meeting with Uganda's Parliament Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
During the meeting, they discussed means of boosting ties, benefiting from the current African mechanisms aiming at increasing investments, and developing the infrastructure in Africa, Bassam Rady, Egyptian presidential spokesman, said in a statement.
The two sides also discussed efforts to boost integration among African countries, citing the African Continental Free Trade Area, which was recently launched during the AU summit in Niger.
Kadaga, for her side, hailed the Egyptian role in Africa as vital for regional stability and security, especially for Nile Basin countries. Enditem
