TOKYO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Friday as investors snapped up bargains following the benchmark Nikkei stock index's three-day losing streak.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 134.99 points, or 0.64 percent, from Thursday to 21,181.23.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 9.72 points, or 0.63 percent, at 1,543.99.
Farm and fishery, securities house and food-related issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
