TOKYO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks extended gains Friday morning, as investors snapped up issues deemed oversold following the market's recent three-day slide.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 347.99 points, or 1.65 percent, from Thursday to 21,394.23.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 27.59 points, or 1.80 percent, at 1,561.86.
