TEHRAN -- Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the United States is "creating instability and insecurity" in the Middle East and Latin America, Tasnim news agency reported on Saturday.

BERLIN -- Germany strongly condemned the seizure of two merchant ships in the Gulf region and asked Iran to release the second ship immediately, according to a statement by the German Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

This is an unjustifiable intrusion into the civilian shipping industry, which further exacerbates an already strained situation, said the statement, urging Iran to immediately release the second ship and its crew as well.

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels said they launched bomb-laden drone attacks at King Khaled Air Base in Asir region in southwestern Saudi Arabia on Saturday, Houthi military spokesman said in a statement.

"The attacks targeted radar sites and other military facilities in the air base," Yahya Sarea said in the statement, adding the attacks came in retaliation against Saudi-led coalition's airstrikes.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. military said on Friday that the Pentagon has authorized the movement of military personnel and resources to Saudi Arabia to help deter "credible threats."
