2 border guards killed in clashes with militants in southeastern Iran

TEHRAN, July 21 (Xinhua) -- At least two Iranian border guards were killed in clashes with the militants in the southeast of the country on Sunday, official IRNA news agency reported.

The clashes in the city of Saravan of Sistan and Baluchestan Province bordering Pakistan killed two soldiers of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and injured two others, IRNA said.

The southeastern province of Iran has been the scene of deadly clashes over the past years between the Iranian security forces and the armed groups of the minority Baluch Sunni people. Enditem
