GHAZNI, Afghanistan -- A total of 15 Taliban fighters were confirmed dead as their own mine went off prematurely in the eastern Ghazni province on Saturday, provincial governor's spokesman Aref Nuri said Sunday.

"A Taliban suicide bomber was going to say goodbye with his comrades before reaching his target in Nawa district on Saturday morning but his vest exploded prematurely killing 15 insurgents including the suicide bomber," Nuri told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Mine blast)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian ambassador to Britain on Sunday warned London not to escalate tensions with Tehran.

PARIS -- Two humanitarian groups said Sunday they have resumed migrant rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea with a new vesssel.
