Saudi king orders hosting 1,000 Sudanese pilgrims

RIYADH, July 21 (Xinhua) -- King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia ordered on Sunday hosting 1,000 Sudanese pilgrims for the current Hajj season, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The initiative is part of the Saudi King Program for Hajj and Umrah that is organised under the supervision of the pilgrimage ministry.

The General Supervisor of the Program, Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, said this number includes 500 pilgrims from the Sudanese army and members of the families of the Sudanese who were killed in action during the "Determination Storm and Restoring of Hope" operations as part of the Arab coalition forces in Yemen.

He indicated that the required steps are being taken to receive the pilgrims and ensure safe pilgrimage rituals to them. Enditem
