1st LD: 1 killed, 12 injured in camp fire in Russia's Far East

MOSCOW, July 23 (Xinhua) -- One child was killed and 12 people including seven children were injured in a fire at a camping site in the Khabarovsk region in Russia's Far East, Sputnik news agency reported Tuesday, quoting the Russian Health Ministry.

The fire broke out on the territory of the Holdomi ski resort in the Sunny district of the Khabarovsk region, where 20 tents burnt down and another six suffered damages of varying degrees, according to a statement by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

Among the injured, three children were in critical conditions, it added.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters from local emergency services, according to authorities.

Investigators and law enforcement officers are currently working at the site to establish all possible causes and circumstances of the incident. Enditem
