BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.12 percent, at 2,941.01 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.06 percent higher at 9,354.28 points.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed lower Monday. Except IT all other sectoral indices ended in the red led by auto, metal, infra, pharma, FMCG and energy.

The benchmark S&P, BSE Sensex closed at 37,686.37, 196.42 points or 0.52 percent down compared to its previous close at 37,882.79.

SINGAPORE -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.52 percent, or 17.37 points, to close at 3,346.39.

A total of 1.30 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 888.14 million Singaporean dollars (about 647.52 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 238 to 170.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Monday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,642.69, down 5.27 points or 0.32 percent, and the Emas was at 11,659.09, down 39.33 points or 0.34 percent.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 291.33 points, or 1.03 percent, to 28,106.41 points on Monday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 27,945.41 and 28,302.66. Turnover totaled 68.63 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 8.78 billion U.S. dollars).

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.06 percent higher on Monday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 4.53 points to 8,188.52. The all-share index went up by 7.44 points, or 0.15 percent, to 4,963.04.

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Monday with technology issues sold after subpar earnings amid a circumspect mood ahead of the outcomes of central bank policy meetings in Japan and the United States.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 41.35 points, or 0.19 percent, from Friday to close the day at 21,616.80.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand stock market's indicator, the S&P/NZX 50 index, rose slightly by 0.4 percent to 10,851 on Monday.

The jump was led by Mercantile Investment Company, which went up by 4.58 percent to 0.16 NZ dollars (0.11 U.S. dollars), while New Talisman Gold Mines dropped by 50 percent to 0.001 NZ dollars.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 105.29 points on Monday, down 1.12 points, or 1.05 percent from the previous trading session.

Prices of 68 stocks went up, 81 stocks dropped, while 217 stocks remained unchanged.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished lower on Monday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) Index down 0.83 point, or 0.13 percent, to close at 622.22 points.

A total of 1,956 shares worth 9.09 million riel (2,224 U.S. dollars) were traded, said a CSX's press release.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh City bourse in southern Vietnam, closed at 997.94 points on Monday, up 4.59 points, or 0.46 percent against the previous trading day.

On Monday, VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 888.54 points, up 0.70 points or 0.08 percent. Enditem
