NAIROBI, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Tuesday.

-- Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso breathed her last yesterday at the Nairobi Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Doctors at the hospital had earlier sent an alert restricting those visiting her at the facility's Intensive Care Unit but she succumbed at around 2 pm. (Daily Nation)

-- The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) has given a breakdown of pay increment it expects the government to implement this month.

According to the Knut's list, school principals will be the biggest winners of the pay rise taking home 16,503 shillings more.(Standard)

-- Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu yesterday put up a vigorous fight to stay in office, despite the 588 million shilling fraud charges leveled against him.

Waititu surrendered to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on Sunday following a directive on Saturday that he was wanted to face corruption-related charges. (Star) Enditem
