FRANKFURT, July 30 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 270.23 points, or 2.18 percent, to close at 12,147.24 points.
German airlines Lufthansa lost the most among the blue chips, down by 6.02 percent, followed by renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer, which lost 5.34 percent and 3.66 percent respectively.
Deutsche Boerse group, marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities, was the only winner, rising 0.36 percent.
Bayer was the most traded share of the day, with a turnover of 395.4 million euros (441.0 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
