SINGAPORE, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 1.49 percent, or 49.79 points, to close at 3,300.75.
A total of 1.15 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.73 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.26 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 294 to 150.
The STI index went up 0.12 percent, or 4.15 points, to close at 3,350.54 Tuesday. Enditem
