MOSCOW -- Russia's anti-monopoly watchdog on Thursday decided to investigate U.S. technology company Apple for suspected "abuse of dominant market position."

The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) said the case was initiated at the request of Russian cybersecurity company Kaspersky Lab, which complained that Apple had rejected a new version of Kaspersky Lab's parental control program Kaspersky Safe Kids (KSK). (Russia-Apple-Investigation)

NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks opened higher on Thursday as concerns for global economic slowdown were eased after global bond yields stabilized.

Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 106.62 points, or 0.41 percent, to 26,113.69. The S&P 500 rose 15.71 points, or 0.54 percent, to 2,899.69. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 54.83 points, or 0.70 percent, to 7,917.66. (US-Stock)

JAKARTA -- Indonesia President Joko Widodo said on Thursday that he has signed the presidential regulation on the electric vehicle industry, expecting the regulation would prompt investors to immediately start the industry in the country.

ADEN, Yemen -- Armed confrontations broke out between the security units loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces in the southern port city of Aden on Thursday, a military official told Xinhua.
