FRANKFURT, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 195.26 points, or 1.68 percent, to close at 11,845.41 points.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer gained the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 7.02 percent. Material manufacturer Covestro and Deutsche Bank added 4.67 percent and 4.46 percent respectively.
Energy group E.ON lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.38 percent. Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas dropped 2.23 percent. Automotive supplier Continental shed 1.42 percent.
Adidas was the most-traded share with a turnover of 429.8 million euros (482.13 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
