LUSAKA, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Friday.

-- Authorities in northwestern Zambia's Mwinilunga district have sealed off an area where gold deposits are said to have been discovered, triggering an influx of fortune hunters from all over the country and beyond.

Northwestern Permanent Secretary Willies Mangimela confirmed the discovery of gold as well as sudden rush of prospectors. (Times of Zambia)
