LONDON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.44 percent, or 32.05 points, to close at 7,253.85 points.
WPP, a British multinational advertising and public relations company, soared 7.21 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Next and Segro increased by 2.70 percent and 1.84 percent, respectively.
Evraz, a multinational vertically integrated steel making and mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 8.87 percent.
