MOSCOW, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed and 32 others were injured in two series of explosions at an ammunition depot in Russia's Siberian Krasnoyarsk Region last week, the regional health ministry said Monday.

The ministry said in a statement that 18 people sought medical help after the second series of blasts hit the ammunition depot near the town of Achinsk caused by lightning on Friday.

The first round of explosions struck on Aug. 5 during the operations of loading and unloading ammunition, injuring 14 people and killing one on the spot, it said.

The Achinsk government said in a statement on Monday that it had decided to keep the emergency regime in the town and nearby areas, where picking mushrooms and berries in forests has been banned. Enditem
