LISBON, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Portugal's Azores Airlines (SATA) has canceled its flight to Lisbon after a plane collided on Sunday with a flock of birds on the North Atlantic island of Azores, Portuguese Lusa News Agency reported on Monday.
This accident forced the aircraft to cancel Sunday's return flight to Lisbon and also Monday's scheduled flight, said SATA spokesman Antonio Portugal.
"There was a collision with birds from a flight from Lisbon to Terceira (an island of Azores) during the landing," said the spokesman, adding that "the aircraft has been being watched by maintenance services yesterday to assess the severity of the damage."
The spokesman said that all the passengers affected were transported with another flight. Enditem
