ASEAN week underway in Myanmar's Yangon

YANGON, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- An ASEAN Week featuring the grouping's joint cultural event is underway in Myanmar's downtown Yangon.
As a part of the activities of ASEAN Cultural Year 2019, the ASEAN Joint Cultural Event -- "ASEAN Week-2019" began at Junction City on Monday, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassies of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Yangon.
Under the theme of "Colorful Threads, Diverse Patterns, One ASEAN", the week-long event lasting until Sunday and inaugurated by Minister of International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin, is aimed at promoting public awareness of ASEAN Community and its rich and diverse cultures.
The event shows the diversity of ASEAN cultures by exhibiting traditional costumes and textiles of all the member states. Enditem
