OTTAWA -- An explosion in a house in Brampton of Canada's Great Toronto Area injured four people Tuesday afternoon, including a five-year-old child in serious condition, according to CTV.

The explosion occurred around 1:30 p.m. in a residential area, and the back of the house was severely damaged. (Canada-Home Explosion)

KHARTOUM -- A total of seven people were killed and two others injured on Tuesday due to heavy rains that hit wide areas of Gezira State in central Sudan, official SUNA news agency reported.

TEGUCIGALPA -- The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Honduras have signed an agreement for 11 million U.S. dollars to combat malaria by 2020, the multilateral agency announced on Tuesday.

"The aim of this operation, which is called the Regional Initiative for the Elimination of Malaria (RIEM), is to contribute to the elimination of malaria in Honduras through the interruption of the transmission of the parasite from human to human," the agency said. (Honduras-IDB-Malaria)

CARACAS -- Venezuela's Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez led on Tuesday the signature drive among members of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB) to protest U.S. economic sanctions.
