Tokyo stocks advance in morning on eased trade concerns, yen's retreat

TOKYO, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced on Wednesday morning on eased concerns about trade issues and the yen's retreat against the U.S. dollar.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 129.46 points, or 0.63 percent, from Tuesday to 20,584.90.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 7.66 points, or 0.52 percent, at 1,494.23.

Mining, rubber product and nonferrous metal-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
