BUDAPEST, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Hungary's week-long Sziget Festival, a major multicultural music and arts festival in the country, has drawn over 530,000 people from over 100 different countries, the organizers said here on Wednesday.

During the festival which started on Aug. 7, festival goers from New Zealand to Brazil experienced music, theatre, comedy and workshops from over 1,000 performers, artists and speakers hailing from over 62 different countries, said the Festival's press office in a statement sent to Xinhua.

This number falls short of the all time record of 2018, when the festival drew 565,000 visitors.

The Festival kicked off with a storming performance from Ed Sheeran on the main stage, and ended with a powerful set from the legendary Foo Fighters on Tuesday. Performances from Martin Garrix, Post Malone, The 1975, Florence & The Machine, Twenty One Pilots, The National, Years and Years featured during the week on the main stage.

Sziget's program consisted of several forms of art, all over the site, villages, stages and workshops featuring performance art, cabaret, comedy, acrobatics and dancing.

Hungarian culture was also celebrated in the Hungarikum Village with folk bands and Hungarian folk dance companies. Enditem
