HAVANA, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Cuba's Foreign Minister said on Wednesday that the international community is challenged with "the aggressiveness and arrogance" of the United States.

On his Twitter, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also slammed Washington for "imposing arbitrary, unilateral sanctions and punitive tariffs on sovereign states, and disrespecting international law and the UN Charter."

Since the start of the decades-long feud between Cuba and the United States in 1959, Washington has imposed various forms of economic, financial, and commercial embargoes on Havana.

The United States recently issued economic sanctions on Cuba partly due to the island's support of Venezuela, which has become the center of a U.S.-led campaign to overthrow Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Enditem
