HONG KONG -- Five people had been arrested on suspicion of desecrating the national flag, the Hong Kong Police Force told Xinhua on Friday.

The five, four males and one female aged between 20 and 22, were arrested on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 in Mong Kok, Ma On Shan, Sham Shui Po, Ngau Tau Kok and Wong Tai Sin respectively. (Hong Kong-Police)

HONG KONG -- The Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) has criticized certain foreign media's irresponsible comments on the situation in Hong Kong as "full of ignorance, prejudice and arrogance."

SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday fired two unidentified short-range projectiles off its east coast, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

The projectiles were launched at 8:01 a.m. and 8:16 a.m. local time each from the DPRK's eastern coastal county of Tongchon into the East Sea.(South Korea-DPRK-Projectiles)

PHNOM PENH -- The Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) has urged the European Union (EU) to maintain the Everything But Arms (EBA) trade preferences for Cambodia, according to its statement released to the media on Thursday.
