TIRANA, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Partizani defeated Kukes 4-2 to win Albania's Super Cup on Sunday in Elbasan, 33 kilometers southeast of capital Tirana.
Reigning Albanian Superliga champions Partizani took the lead in the 6th minute through midfielder Esat Mala.
But Albanian Cup holders Kukes hit back in the 39th minute, when midfielder Emiljano Musta scored past Partizani goalkeeper Alban Hoxha to ensure the first half ended 1-1.
Into the second half, Kukes started brightly and took the lead in the 56th minute when Musta scored his second of the game.
However, an 88th minute strike from Partizani's Jamaican forward Brian Brown sent the match into extra time.
Partizani regained the lead in the 94th minute after Brown scored his second of the game, and the Jamaican sealed his hat-trick five minutes later to give Partizani a 4-2 victory.
Speaking to local media after the match, Kukes coach Shpetim Duro bemoaned his team's lack of focus in the final stages of the match.
"The team played much better in the second half and we could have scored a third goal, but the loss of concentration in the last minutes punished us," Duro said. Enditem
