LUSAKA, Aug. 20 Tuesday (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- More than 100 Zambians have been removed from Namibia in the last six days for unlawful entry.

Immigration Department Spokesperson Namati Nshinka said the majority of those repatriated entered Namibia to work as farm laborers using border passes but discarded their documents as soon as they expired. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government says it is ready to host the 35th annual general meeting of the Trade and Development Bank next Thursday.

Minister of Finance Bwalya Ng'andu said a lot was expected from the bank such as solutions to the economic and trade challenges that some member countries are facing in energy, industrialization, and capital market development. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu says his government is looking forward to receiving serious investors who will respect the country's national values and those who are not only interested in profit-making but re willing to plough back in communities where they operate from.

Lungu said when he officially opened the Expo North-West Zambia 2019 that government wanted investors who would not abrogate labor laws. (Daily Nation)

-- About 254 children have been retrieved from early marriages by women organizations in Zambia since 2016.

Samuel Mwanakatwe, program officer for knowledge at the Non-Governmental Gender Organizations' Coordinating Council (NGOCC) said the organization has made strides in retrieving girls from child marriages and offering support to them. (The Mast) Enditem
