WINDHOEK, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's annual Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Show (WIAS) will take place from September 30 to October 5, the organizers said on Thursday.

The event is an annual trade fair. It combines an agricultural exhibition, several industrial and retail offerings, and a range of entertainment facilities.

The Windhoek Show was first held in 1899 and is since 1966 conducted annually.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Windhoek Show Society Harald Schmidt said this year's event will be held under the theme -- The Big Reveal.

"This year's show coincides with its 65 years anniversary. The agricultural section comprises a large grassed arena, cattle pens to accommodate 750 cattle and small stock pens for 1,200 animals. We are expecting over 10,500 people from across the world. We will have about 200 stalls," said Schmidt.

Schmidt said people from China, India, Britain, USA, Jamaica, Angola, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa normally attend the event.

"The event started as just a livestock event. Today we also have music, fashion, art, food, drinks and businesses showing there services and products. At first we only had Namibian business showing their services, but since last year internationals also started showcasing their work," said Schmidt. Enditem
