TORONTO, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Continuing the exhibition which debuted at the 2018 Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), the 2019 CNE once again features 17 Chinese lantern exhibits centered around legends and myths associated with the Silk Road.

Captivating Legends of the Silk Road features a series of 17 illuminated sculpture installations, creating a luminous kaleidoscope of color. The Chinese lanterns transforms the CNE Coca-Cola Coliseum into a magical maze of luminous lantern installations.

This beautiful exhibits are created from local materials by artists in China. New to the Silk Road exhibit this year is the ability to have the lanterns become animated using augmented reality and an app on smart-devices, completely transforming the exhibit and bringing the lanterns to life.

Up to date, the Silk Road lanterns show has already attracted thousands of visitors at the 2019 CNC, which kicked off on Aug. 16 and will last till Sept. 2, according to a CNE spokesperson Saturday.

The CNE is Canada's largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting about 1.5 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. Enditem
