WASHINGTON, Aug 24, (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Tennis Association announced that two-time Grand Slam finalist Kevin Anderson pulled out of the US Open on Saturday due to a right knee injury.

The 33-year-old hasn't played in a tournament since his third-round exit at Wimbledon last month. Injury ruled him out of the recent hardcourt events at Washington, Montreal and Cincinnati.

Anderson from the South African lost to Rafael Nadal in the 2017 US Open final and to Novak Djokovic last year at Wimbledon. Enditem
