PYONGYANG -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), guided a test-firing of newly developed super-large multiple rocket launcher on Saturday, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Sunday.

The test proved that all the tactical and technological specifications of the launcher system correctly reached the preset indexes, the KCNA said in a report. (DPRK-Test firing)

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said on Saturday that the Amazon rainforest now "is not burning as people say," in a bid to assuage global concerns over raging fire in the region.

SEOUL -- South Korea's military on Sunday launched two-day maritime defense drills in the East Sea, just three days after ending the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) with Japan.

DHAKA -- At least eight people were killed and 18 others injured when a passenger bus veered off the road and fell into a ditch in Bangladesh's central Faridpur district on Saturday, a police official said.

FM Nasim, officer in charge of Faridpur's Kotwali Police station, told local journalists that the fatal road accident took place on a highway connecting the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka and southern Khulna divisional town, about 180 km southwest of the capital city. (Bangladesh-Bus-Accident) Enditem
