HOUSTON -- Five people were killed and at least 21 people injured in an active shooting on Saturday afternoon in the Midland-Odessa area in the U.S. state of Texas, local police said on Saturday.

LIMA -- Former Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo requested assurance of a fair trial if he is extradited to Peru, his lawyer Heriberto Benitez said on Saturday.

MEXICO CITY -- The death toll from a bar fire attack on Tuesday in eastern Mexico has reached 30, local authorities said on Saturday.

SARAJEVO -- Milorad Dodik, a member of Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) presidency, said here on Saturday that he "fully understands and supports China in its efforts to maintain peace and stability in Hong Kong.
