HONG KONG -- Carrying a gun, real or replica, could have dire consequences, a Hong Kong police spokesman warned protesters at a press conference on Monday.

When someone draws a gun, there is no way for police to tell if it's real or not. "The police would respond with force if a gun is pointed at anyone. TOKYO -- Shotaro Yachi, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's national security advisor, will likely retire when the Cabinet is reshuffled next week, sources with knowledge of the matter said Monday.

PHNOM PENH -- Visiting Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said here on Monday that the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) will benefit all participating countries.

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan -- At least six police officers were killed and 17 people wounded in a suicide bomb blast in northern embattled Afghan Kunduz city on Monday, an Interior Ministry spokesman confirmed.
