WELLINGTON -- The Chinese embassy in New Zealand confirmed Wednesday that six Chinese tourists were dead in a serious bus crash near New Zealand's Rotorua.

NEW DELHI -- The Chinese government attaches great importance to its relations with India, which is a basic foreign policy China has adhered to for a long time, Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong said at a welcome reception in his honor on Tuesday night.

SEOUL -- South Korean consumers' purchase using smartphones in the cyberspace hit a new record high in July on the rising number of mobile payment services, a government report said Wednesday.

Mobile shopping reached 7.2 trillion won (6 billion U.S. dollars) in July, up 21.5 percent from a year earlier, according to Statistics Korea. It was the biggest since the statistical office began compiling the data in 2013.

It was attributable to the increased mobile payment services, which encouraged consumers to purchase goods and services using smartphones. (S.Korea-Economy)

CANBERRA -- The Australian government will overhaul the list of skilled migration occupations in an attempt to boost the nation's slowing economy.

Michaelia Cash, Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, announced the review on Wednesday, saying that skilled migration is a key driver of Australia's economy.
